From c.1883 the map was lithographically altered. Larger size: 310 x 370 mm. The title is now: EXETER AND SUBURBS (Ea). Imprint: PRINTED & PUBLISHED BY H BESLEY & SON, SOUTH STREET, EXETER.  (CeOS). New imprint: ENTERED AT STATIONERS’ HALL (EeOS). A plain three line border; North point (Cb).

                        Extends out to Exwick, St. Thomas and Wonford. Certain lettering is redone and places are retitled (HM Prison instead of County Gaol) etc.

[14] Reverse is a plan of the Cathedral. The map is imprinted Besley and Dalgleish who were active c.1899-1911.The guide has a list of memorials inside the cathedral and there is no mention of those erected in 1902; the latest being that for Logan 1898. The Appendix is dated 23rd April 1900.
